Every summer, Lees-McRae Summer Theatre welcomes performers from our local community and around the country to bring the magic of theatre to the High Country region. Performers are either hired in one of two categories: professionals or performance interns. Professionals are those who have completed their undergraduate training or have significant professional experience. Current undergraduate performers are hired as a member of a performance internship program. Lees-McRae Summer Theatre provides top quality, professional theatre in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. They specialize in big stage musicals including Broadway classics and newer hits, plus some outstanding original works. The season runs from late June through early August.
